Becoming a Student Volunteer

Important Dates

  • May 23rd, 2025: Deadline for application
  • May 27th, 2025: Notification of acceptance

Application

You can send your Student Volunteer application by completing the online form using the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/Kvvi161SeJ

In the form, you will be asked a short series of questions, exploring your interest in attending ECSCW 2025 and why you would be a good fit for the SV team.

Please note that, while being a Student Volunteer gives you free access to the conference, if your registration is covering an accepted paper you still need to pay for it in full.

If your application gets accepted, you can also consider applying for the EUSSET Early Career Travel Support (more information on this to follow soon!)

Student Volunteers Description

To ensure smooth sailing for ECSCW 2025, we are looking for student volunteers (SVs) to support the daily operations of the conference. As an SV, you have the opportunity to attend the conference while having unique access to the backstage view of how the conference is run.

SVs are expected to work around 20 hours throughout the conference, where duties may include: checking in attendees; setting up and supporting sessions; general assistance to conference organization; and being a helpful and supportive presence to conference attendees. By becoming an SV, you also have a good opportunity to interact closely with fellow junior and senior researchers.

ECSCW 2025 will be a physical conference held in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and SVs are expected to take care of their travel and accommodation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • You are 18 years or older on July 2nd, 2025.
  • You are a full-time student (proof of enrollment required if selected).
  • You are able to attend the full conference (July 2nd – 4th, 2025) in person.
  • You have a professional and proactive attitude.
